Film Overview:

My understanding of film and its importance in photography has evolved greatly since I began. When I first started taking pictures, any type of print film at Wal Mart would do. The print film route led to much frustration as I never got the results that I had hoped for - part of this was due to my inexperience with determining exposure but part was due to the processing labs. My discovery in the past few years of color positive film (slide film) has greatly increased my enjoyment of photography.

Each type of film has great variation in the results that you can achieve in terms of color rendition, grain, and the range of contrast the film is able to reveal. In the following quick film reviews (see links below) I will try to give you my observations of the following types of film and where I would recommend them.
