  • Best Widgets for your Wordpress Blog

    By admin | May 17, 2007

One of the niftiest things I discovered when I started developing this blog was sidebar widgets. Widgets are a fun, easy way to control the items in your sidebar. (or sidebars). For the version of Wordpress that I downloaded (V2.1 ), I had to download Sidebar Widgets - by Automatic, Inc. It’s an easy plugin to install, and it comes with a few easy to use widgets. Luckily, it is alot like Wordpress in that it is open for others to write great widgets to incorporate. Sidebar Widgets are even easier for those using the latest version of Wordpress (V2.2), sidebar widgets are included! Here are a few of the best Widgets that I have found:

The new advances in digital SLR’s revealed by Canon in the recent months (through the introduction of the new 1D mark III) makes me very excited about future offerings from Canon, including their replacement to the current 30D.

How to put Adsense Ads in your Wordpress Sidebar

    By admin | May 16, 2007

I found several options for putting my Google Adsense ads into the sidebar of my Wordpress blog. Most of the plugins that I found were overly complicated and did not work. The best solution I found was the simplest - simply insert your Adsense code into the text boxes that are included with the sidebar widgets plugin - Here is how to do it:

Buying a Refurbished Mac from the Apple Store

    By admin | April 29, 2007

One of the biggest hurdles to switching over to a mac from the windows world is the cost. I have heard many arguments that the new macs are now more inline with the pricing from other PC makers like Dell and Sony. I agree that for the money, you get a great computer, but it is limiting that the bottom line computer from Apple does not dip down in price as low as come competitors.

    Best Plugins for Wordpress

    By admin | March 18, 2007

I am new to blogging and have experienced a bit of a crash course in what tools are the best to use for my Wordpress blog. Wordpress is great in that it is open source and allows anyone with the desire and ability to write applications to use with Wordpress. These applications are called “plugins”. It is great in that the vast majority of them are free of charge for anyone to use. The bad thing is that there is not much accountability for what happens if they don’t work correctly.

    Fuji Introduces Velvia 50 (again)

    By admin | March 12, 2007

I’m not sure what this will mean for most photographers as digital is taking over the landscape of photography, but part of me is very happy that Fujifilm has announced that they are going to start manufacturing Velvia 50 slide film again and it will be available in late spring, 2007 according to their press release.

    Macbook Pro

    By admin | March 12, 2007

I have really enjoyed working on our new macbook pro. It is our first mac product of any kind (other than itunes running on our windows machine). While not perfect, it is generally more logical for me to use, and much more fun and appealing visually.

I hope to be writing much more on my experiences, good and bad, with the Macintosh.

    My First Blog Post

    By admin | March 11, 2007

I am excited to start this blog to add to my website. I will be adding more information on photography as well as the tools used for photography, including Apple computers.

I have had enough fun editing websites using Dreamweaver and HTML. The results have been so-so, and my website is painfully static! I’m looking forward to learning something new with this BLOG format and getting into database website design!
