    Best Widgets for your Wordpress Blog

    One of the niftiest things I discovered when I started developing this blog was sidebar widgets. Widgets are a fun, easy way to control the items in your sidebar. (or sidebars). For the version of Wordpress that I downloaded (V2.1 ), I had to download Sidebar Widgets - by Automatic, Inc. It’s an easy plugin to install, and it comes with a few easy to use widgets. Luckily, it is alot like Wordpress in that it is open for others to write great widgets to incorporate. Sidebar Widgets are even easier for those using the latest version of Wordpress (V2.2), sidebar widgets are included! Here are a few of the best Widgets that I have found:

    I found several options for putting my Google Adsense ads into the sidebar of my Wordpress blog. Most of the plugins that I found were overly complicated and did not work. The best solution I found was the simplest - simply insert your Adsense code into the text boxes that are included with the sidebar widgets plugin - Here is how to do it:

    I am new to blogging and have experienced a bit of a crash course in what tools are the best to use for my Wordpress blog. Wordpress is great in that it is open source and allows anyone with the desire and ability to write applications to use with Wordpress. These applications are called “plugins”. It is great in that the vast majority of them are free of charge for anyone to use. The bad thing is that there is not much accountability for what happens if they don’t work correctly.

    I am excited to start this blog to add to my website. I will be adding more information on photography as well as the tools used for photography, including Apple computers.

    I have had enough fun editing websites using Dreamweaver and HTML. The results have been so-so, and my website is painfully static! I’m looking forward to learning something new with this BLOG format and getting into database website design!
